The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking to grace the cover of a wall calendar that touts the nation’s best looking cruisers.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is chasing the fame and glory of being on the cover of a wall calendar.
The patrol has entered the American Association of State Troopers “Best Looking Cruiser” contest, with the winner gracing the 2023 association calendar. But it needs some help.
It is asking residents to visit its Facebook page and Twitter or Instagram accounts for the contest post and vote for Ohio’s silver cruisers, with yellow lettering and red and blue lights, as the best-looking in America.
The patrol is hoping to improve on its finish last year, when it captured second place to Kentucky’s State Police cruisers.
The association’s rankings are updated on its website at https://www.statetroopers.org throughout the contest. The top 13 vote-getters land in the calendar.
As of Monday morning, California had 32,197 votes followed by Kentucky with 24,035 and Georgia with 22,402, according to the rankings.
Ohio, in seventh place, had a fraction of that, with 9,914 votes. Good enough to make the calendar, but a ways away from the cover. Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer reached out to Ohio patrol officials and the national association of state troopers for comment.
